TORONTO COIN APPRAISAL

Toronto coin and banknote appraisal preparation

An appraisal is not determined by age alone. Condition, scarcity, certification, market demand, authenticity risk and recent comparable sales all matter.

Start with clear photographs

Provide obverse and reverse images, edge details, holder labels, visible defects and certification numbers. For banknotes, include corners, folds, serial numbers and watermark areas.

Bring the basic record

Record country, date, denomination, quantity, measurements, weight, condition notes and provenance. Do not guess a rare variety or value when the information is uncertain.

When an in-person review helps

Items with authenticity questions, cleaning, repairs, paper damage, high value or unclear photographs may need an in-store review. Contact us first to confirm inventory and appointment timing.

Use an appraisal carefully

A preliminary opinion can help decide whether to grade, sell, insure or separate a collection. A final transaction price depends on the actual item and the agreed terms.
